Sarah E. Smith is a partner with Mullavey, Prout, Grenley and Foe LLP. She worked closely with Mr. Charles N. Mullavey as his associate attorney for many years prior to his retirement. Her practice concentrates on estate planning, probate and trust administration, tax planning, residential real estate, and limited liability companies.

Estate Planning/Estate Tax Planning/Gifting - Sarah advises clients on all aspects of estate planning, gifting and estate tax avoidance. She can assist with the drafting of all necessary documents to implement a comprehensive estate plan, including community property agreements, last will and testaments, durable powers of attorney, health care directives, revocable living trusts, spousal agreements, cohabitation agreements, prenuptial/post nuptial agreements and trust dispute resolution matters.

Probate and Trust Administration - Sarah regularly advises clients on the administration of estates through probate, small estate affidavits, claiming successor procedures, community property clearances, and trust administrations. Sarah also advises individuals and fiduciaries, such as trustees, executors, and attorneys-in-fact, regarding their powers and duties owed to beneficiaries and creditors.

Real Estate - Sarah assists and prepares real estate purchase and sale agreements for residential transactions, reviews title reports with clients, and prepares residential leases. Additionally, she often reviews purchase and sale agreement and real estate closing documents with fiduciaries, such as trustees, executors, and attorneys-in-fact, to assist them in understanding their duties regarding such transactions.

Limited Liability Companies - Sarah advises families and business owners regarding their closely-held business, including entity formation, assignment, financing and gifting.

Sarah graduated cum laude from Seattle University School of Law, where she assisted in the founding of the Washington First Responders Will Clinic. She was awarded membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society and graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Sarah was raised in Nebraska.
